 Viru Backpackers is a small, friendly place on the main street of Tallinn´s old town, just around the corner from the Town Hall, offering cheap private accommodation with an international atmosphere.The prime location means it´s easy to reach all of the cultural hot spots like the Town Hall Square and the famous Olde Hansa Restaurant. Tallinn’s most popular bar district is also just around the corner, providing a fabulous nightlife and making the location very safe at the same time. The Viru hostel provides quiet, clean and spacious rooms and informal surroundings. Some rooms have a great view of the main street. If you want more action, you are always welcome to visit the Viru’s affiliate hostel Tallinn Backpackers, where there is always time for parties, movie nights, tabletop football, Wii sports, or a free visit to the sauna. Travel information Our Backpackers is located on Viru street, the main street in town. So if you get lost you can always ask around, but you can hardly miss it. We are located on Viru 5, above the Salamander shoe shop. We have a sign hanging outside on the gate, also the entrance to a tattoo shop. Ring bell nr. 2, take the first door on your left and walk to the 3rd floor.
If you decide to take a cab, ask them to drop you off at the Hesburger at the flower market, just in front of the Viru Gates (cars can’t go further). From the Airport: - Take bus number 2 to the A.Laikmaa stop at the Viru shopping center and walk from there to the Old Town. - You will see a small flower market: walk there through the Viru Gates and you will end up in Viru street. Taxis are also waiting outside the arrival hall. From the Bus Station: - Take bus 17 or 23 to Vabaduse Väljak, the bus stop at a big square. - Cross the parking lot and walk into Harju street. - Turn at the tourist office to the right into Kuninga street, pass the Olde Hansa restaurant and you end up in Viru street. There are taxis waiting outside the bus station. From the Harbour: - Walk from the port in the direction of the Old Town: turn left into Mere street till the roundabout. - Turn right there through the Viru Gates and you will end up in Viru street. Otherwise cross the street from the port to Uus street and on the end of that a right into Viru street. It is not far from the harbour to our place, but if you want there are taxis waiting outside the ferry terminal. |
