Hechingen: Guide
Hechingen is a town in the Zollernalbkreis, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located under the hill and castle Burg Hohenzollern. Jungingen is nearby.
In former times, the town was located in Hohenzollern-Hechingen, a principality of the House of Hohenzollern and was the fiefdom of Swabian counts.
The town was the ancestral home of the Hohenzollern dynasty. It was retained by the Swabian or senior line of the family until it was ceded to the junior, Prussian, line in 1850.
