Due to its location near the Bundesstraße 12 (B12), one of Bavaria's most important traffic routes, a whole bunch of shops developed in the past decades. Currently there are 3 inns, two traditional Bavarian (Gasthof Steutzger and Gasthof zur Post) ones and one Italian (La Posta).
Besides several smaller shops, there is a REWE supermarket, two car traders (Porsche and Mercedes-Benz), a driving school (City Fahrschule II), a pharmacy, and a gas station (Allguth)
Hohenlinden offers a wide choice of associations and clubs. Most of them are free for everyone to join and only charge a small annual fee to cover their expenses. The most popular associations are the Sportvereinigung Hohenlinden, the Boeller-Verein, the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Hohenlinden, the Schützenverein and the Theaterverein Hohenlinden.
Other popular organsiations are the Landfrauen, the Stiefelclub, the Motocrossverein, the Tischtennisverein, the Eisstockschützen and the Verein Hohenlinden 2000 e.V.
