Kevelaer is a town in the district of Cleves (Kleve) in Germany with 27,624 inhabitants. It is the best visited Catholic pilgrimage location within north-western Europe. More than 800,000 pilgrims, mostly from Germany and the Netherlands, visit Kevelaer every year to honor the Mary, the mother of Jesus|Virgin Mary.

The town participates in international town twinning and it has twinned with Bury St. Edmunds, in the United Kingdom. In the middle ages, Bury was also an important place of pilgrimage.
