Unterhaching is a municipality in Oberbayern|oberbayeri Munich (district)|Munich district and is found south of the Bavarian state capital Munich. It has an outdoor swimming pool which is visited by many people in summer. Its football team SpVgg Unterhaching were formerly in the premiere league for a short time.

It's twin cities are: Bischofshofen /Salzburg (Austria), Le Vésinet (France), Witney (England), Adeje (Teneriffa/Spain) and Zywiec (Poland).

History

The fact that the settlement of the Hachinger of valley can be seen on the basis grave back from at least 1100 v. Chr. is a proven fact. Between fifth and this respective century the Bavarian trunk was formed, here occupied by a altbajuwarisches row grave field.

Sports


Unterhaching is especially known in Germany for its soccer team SpVgg Unterhaching which played in the First Division (Bundesliga) during the seasons 1999/2000 and 2000/2001. In 2001 SpVgg Unterhaching won the DFB indoor soccer cup (DFB Hallenpokal).

The Unterhaching SpVgg also has a very successful Bobsport department, for which they are multiple world and European champions and is where Olympic winner Christoph Langen starts.

The volleyballers are just as successful TSV Unterhaching, which played for six years in German Volleyball Federal league|German Bundesliga (first division).

Economics



Unterhaching is the location of the mustard and fine food manufacturer Develey, in addition to the seat of of the German administration of chewing rubber manufacturer Wrigley. The company Anton Schrobenhauser became one of the largest building contractors in the resident of Munich city and the district.

Environment


At the beginning of 2004 was the start for the drilling work in Unterhaching for a Geothermal power and heat generating device - at present the largest geothermal drilling in Germany. The plant is to produce 3.1 MW of electricity and 16 MW of heat.
