Schaffhausen is a city in north-eastern Switzerland on the river Rhine, next to the Germany|German border.

Schaffhausen is an old city that become a member of the Swiss Confederation in 1501.
In 1944 Schaffhausen was accidentally bombed by United States airforce that mistook neutral Swiss town for Germany.
