This family-run inn is a good base for exploring the North Coast of Ireland. It has its own 9-hole golf course, a well-equipped modern gym, a traditional bar and American motel-style rooms.The Brown Trout Golf and Country Inn has been owned and managed by the O´Hara family for four generations. It is in a beautiful part of the Irish countryside, less than 25 miles (40 km) from the Giant´s Causeway. The Royal Portrush Golf Club is 15 miles (24 km) from the Brown Trout. The area is also good for horse riding and fishing. The en suite bedrooms are in a courtyard next to the main building. Each room has 2 double beds and most have baths and separate walk-in showers. Room information The bedrooms are in a courtyard adjacent to the main building and are laid-out in American style. The rooms are very accessible and are graded category 1 disability access by the Tourist board. Food & beverage The bar food is fresh and exciting - anything from home-made crab chowder to home-baked pies. The restaurant has an extensive menu where again the focus is on excellent home cooking. Area information The inn is not far from the Ulster American Folk Park (3 miles North of Omagh on the A5). The Folk Park is an outdoor museum, which tells the story of emigration to North America in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Sperrins Tourism: One of Northern Ireland´s most beautiful regions. Ruggedly criss-crossed with a pattern of mountains, moors and inland waters, this striking landscape has remained virtually unaffected by the passage of time. The serious golfer will relish the challenge of the nearby Portrush Golf Club and all guests to Northern Ireland must see the world-famous Giants Causeway which is only a short drive away.
