Area information Eastbourne is a traditional English seaside town moving into the 21st century, without losing its style, cleanliness or charm. Centrally located, just opposite the recently restored Art Deco bandstand, The Guesthouse East is less than 1.6 km (one mile) from the glorious South Downs, where there are many running and cycling opportunities. Norman churches, castles and towns such as Rye, Hastings and Pevensey all within an hour´s drive or so. Eastbourne is blessed with 6 fantastic golf courses, while for children there´s plenty of entertainment from seafront fairgrounds to theme parks - and of course, a good old fashioned beach. Travel information By Car (from London): - Take the M25 and exit onto the M23 to Brighton. - At Brighton, take the A27 signposted Lewes/Worthing and head for Lewes. Eastbourne is around a 40-minute drive from here. - Follow the signs for the seafront and then turn onto Hartington Place, between the Chatsworth and Mansion Lions Hotels. By Air: Gatwick airport is about an hour´s drive – follow the above directions from the M25 to the M23. By Rail: The station is around a 7-minute walk away.
