This family-run guesthouse overlooks Devonshire Park and the International Tennis Courts, just a stone´s throw from the beach and the promenade, and only a short distance from the town centre. All of the en suite rooms are front facing, with some enjoying views of the rolling South Downs. Each room has tea/coffee making facilities and a TV with 17 channels and a DVD player. Room information All rooms are en suite and have a colour TV with access to 17 channels. DVD players (with free access to a DVD library of over 200 titles), central heating, welcome trays and co-ordinated soft furnishings complete the room. For your comfort, a pillow menu is available. Bedrooms are all front facing, with some enjoying views of the rolling South Downs. All rooms are accessible by a lift. Food & beverage Whether you want to escape the hustle and bustle of life or sit down for a pre-theatre drink, the Terrace Lounge-Bar, located on the ground floor and overlooking Lascelles Terrace and the Devonshire Park Theatre, is the ideal location. The Lounge and Bar offer an unusual mix of the traditional lounge with a contemporary bar area. Afternoon tea and light snacks are also served at selected times. Dining: The dining room has been designed to offer a bright and sunny atmosphere for breakfast, but also a sophisticated ambience for dinner. A cold buffet of cereals, yoghurts, baked goods and fruits is followed by a traditional English breakfast. Serving traditional British Fare, from traditional roasts to daily dishes, there is bound to be something to tickle your taste buds on the Table d´hôte menu. Most guests prefer to have dinner before the theatre, therefore it served between 18:00-18:30. If you don´t fancy a 3-course meal then why not choose from the ‘Home away from Home Menu’, available most evenings (subject to availability and guests are asked on check-in if they may want to use the service). Packed lunches can be provided for your days out. Light lunches and afternoon teas are also served on different days in the Terrace Lounge-Bar. Late Bar: When the demand requires, the hotel is happy to provide residents and their guests with a late bar. Travel information By Car: From the A27 or A22: - Follow the signs to Eastbourne seafront. - Turn right on the roundabout at the Sovereign Leisure Centre and follow the road along the seafront. - You will travel along Royal Parade, Marine Parade and Grand Parade as you pass the pier on your left-hand side. - Lascelles Terrace is the 7th turning on the right after you have passed the pier - the turning being immediately after the Eastbourne Centre (formerly The T & G building). - The Mowbray is at the end of Lascelles Terrace on the left-hand side. Alternatively, trains depart from Victoria every 30 minutes. Important information Please note that Wi-Fi is free at The Mowbray however your laptop will need to accept a pass code to work.
The Mowbray does not accept American Express cards as payment, or to guarantee a booking. Please note that during quieter periods, The Mowbray does not serve dinner but can assist guests with local places to eat where the hotel has secured discounts for guests.
