Hotel information The hotel was built in 1897 by a glass merchant who would use the tower to search for the merchant ships coming in to the port of Leith. Today the tower has been transformed into a contemporary suite while retaining original features in keeping with the character of the tower. Area information Ideally situated within the vibrant and cosmopolitan Leith district of Edinburgh, the area is steeped in local history and boasts a variety of attractions including shopping at Ocean Terminal where the Royal Yacht Britannia is docked, Inverleith Park and The Royal Botanic Gardens. A 5 minute bus journey will take you into Edinburgh city centre to tourist attractions such Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, The Whisky Heritage Centre, Dynamic Earth as well as shopping on Princes Street and experiencing the old town on the Royal Mile.
