 The Bird in Hand has remained in the same family for the last 3 generations. As resident proprietors the emphasis has always been on offering a warm & personl service in a friendly atmosphere. As well as superb accommodation, a fine restaurant and Bar with are only 4 miles west of Maidenhead and close to Junction 8/9 of the M4 Motorway which gives fast access to Heathrow & Gatwick Airports. We are also ideally situated for visiting London, Oxford, Windsor & Henley on Thames.

We have recently been awarded the CAMRA Pub of the Year for the Reading area. Our menu consists of a combination of exotic and traditional dishes which can be enjoyed either in the bar or our restaurant, overlooking the courtyard. Room information All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and the facilities listed in "room descriptions". All are centred around a brick courtyard with a fountain, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquility of a secluded garden. One bedroom has been specially adapted for the needs of disabled guests. Area information The hotel's location offers easy access to Windsor Castle and Legoland, with London only a 30 minute train journey or a one hour drive away. Henley-on-Thames can be reached in 10 minutes; Reading in 20 minutes and Oxford is an hour away. Travel information By Train: The nearest mainline station is Twyford (4.8 km / 3 miles). By Air: Heathrow Airport is 16 km / 10 miles away. Cancellation policy Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
