Rhoose: Guide

Rhoose () is a village located near the sea (the Bristol Channel) in the Vale of Glamorgan, near Barry in south Wales.

It is home to Cardiff International Airport, a Holiday Park (Fontygary), some shops, three public houses (The Fontygary Inn, The Mayflower and the Highwayman), Rhoose Social Club, and an active Surf Life Saving Club (Rhoose Lifeguards).

Rhoose is one of the fastest growing villages in the Vale of Glamorgan, with the two newest developments being "The Hollies", and more recently, Rhoose Point. Rhoose Point is the most southerly point of mainland Wales. Due to these two large developments, Rhoose is currently struggling with the increased population. A new school and other civic amenities were a condition of the new developments, but have still not materialised. Rhoose Cardiff International Airport railway station|Rhoose railway station, which was scheduled to re-open in 2003, suffered numerous bureaucratic delays before eventually re-opening in June 2005.
