Recently awarded 4 stars in recognition of its high standards, the Newburgh is the perfect place in which to unwind, whether for a full fortnight, week, long weekend or short midweek break. For your cleanliness and comfort, the Newburgh is a non-smoking guest house.

The pictures shown of the Newburgh are all up to date, although the planted area at the front is constantly being improved.

For a special occasion of any kind, a welcoming bouquet of flowers can be arranged. As the Newburgh is a family-run guest house, it does not accept bookings from stag or hen parties, or from same-sex groups of more than 2 people.

En suite accommodation consists of 3 double rooms, one king-size/twin room, one family triple room and one single room (double room for single use). Freeview is available in each room.

At the Newburgh, good quality, fresh ingredients are used in your breakfast. Your breakfast is prepared and cooked while you wait in our spotless kitchen, and you can watch this from your table in the dining room.

Ideally located in a quiet road directly off Belgrave Road at the seafront end, you will find the Newburgh nestled in a short terrace of early Victorian properties (built in 1861).

The guest house is approximately 280 metres from the beach via a reasonably level walk; approximately 90 metres from the Riviera centre; and a few minutes more to the town and Torquay's fabulous harbour. The Newburgh is close to the train and coach station.

Dartmoor and the beautiful South Devon coastline are there to be discovered, a few minutes away by car.

From the guest house you will enjoy one of the most advantageous positions in Torquay, set away from the hubbub created by one of the most successful resorts in Europe. Remember that Torquay is often better seen out of main season, and has lots to offer.

By Car
- From the end of the M5 motorway, head onto the A380 and follow the signs to Torquay.
- Follow directions to the seafront.
- Pass an open space of grass and gardens on your left. At the traffic lights keep in the left lane.
- Turn left onto Belgave Road (The Belgrave Hotel will be on your right). Continue on Belgrave Road and you will see a large green hotel called The Cavendish.
- Turn immediately right after the Cavendish, onto Scarborough Road.
- The Newburgh Guesthouse is the 2nd property on your left, recently painted pale pink. Parking is unrestricted on Scarborough Road, and on the adjoining Croft Road too.

Cancellation Information:
In any case, the guest house will endeavour to re-let your accommodation, and then the cancellation charges may not apply. If they are unable to re-let your accommodation and the cancellation charges are applicable, they may be able to offer you a replacement break later on in the year, subject to availability, although this is not guaranteed.

Please note: the hotel cannot take bookings for groups or stag/hen parties.

Please note: the hotel is not suitable for children under 4 years old.

Please advise the hotel by either email or telephone of your expected arrival time. Check-in is from 14:00 to 20:30. It can be earlier or later only by previous arrangement.

You may wish to consider taking out travel insurance to cover yourself, in the event of unforeseen circumstances arising.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, the first night will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: Children older than 4 years are welcome.
One child from 4 to 8 years is charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person when using existing bedding.
One child from 8 to 12 years is charged 75 % of the room stay per night and person when using existing bedding.
There is no capacity for extra beds/cots in the room.

Deposit Policy: 100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: No internet access available.

Meal Plan: Breakfast is included in the room rate.

Parking: Free Public parking is possible at a location nearby (reservation is not possible).
